Our Florida showcase provides for two classes of investors into NZ agribiz assets. (1) the UHNW market for the larger income producing units requiring OIA consent (2) the HNW market which seeks smaller, horticulture assets not requiring OIA consent. Typically a smaller orchard as a family sanctuary with income.
A region renown for its smaller orchards / agribiz ventures and its coastal playground, the beautiful "Bay of Islands", a yachting mecca.
Typically smaller, family owned and operated ventures, many being under the, (current) OIA restriction of 5ha are suited to the HNW investor up to circa USD5M.seeking an exotic holiday sanctum that can be done off the radar in terms of regulatory approvals.
Agribiz assets of this size and cost appeal to the UHNW individual and/or family that is seeking NZ residency status. Typically "High St" capital market players and tech sector billionaires / Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals and families.
A process that can take a year or more to work through and typically involving investments above the NZD15M investment level as provided under the current investment visa settings.
New Zealand offers a stunning array of magnificent locations that appeal to investors from abroad.
OIA aside, a key factor in the investment process for both the UHNW and HNW investor classes is ongoing management of an income producing, agribiz asset.
As most investments fall into the "trophy / legacy" creating category giving rise to bragging rights at the investors local country club, asset income management plays a big role in the investment decision for all agribiz.
Yep, that's me, Linda, showcase project director. With eight years in NZ working on the "Tribal" branded, NZ tea tree oil and honey agribiz project, backed up by my nearly 10 years in the Australian tea tree oil industry back in the '90's, I know a thing or two about the oils and their unique therapeutic applications. The primary one being "Natural Infection Protection" A USD261B PA TAM, (Total Addressable Market").
In this image, I have dropped in pics of the NHP distribution hub in Valencia, CA where the US shelf-ready SKU's (Stock Keeping Units) will be shipped from NZ for warehousing and distribution across the US an Canada, An artist render of our family's "repurposed" realty office in the heart of the Ft Lauderdale tourism precinct on SE 17th St Causeway.
I am fortunate to have a great NZ tea tree agribiz "make it happen" team.
Firstly, my thanks to "JC" (John Cilliers), who, like me, lived in South Africa before coming to NZ and is to guide the subject company to a targeted listing on a publicly listed Stock Exchange when traction permits the process to start.
Secondly, I am forever thankful that the late "Big Jim" introduced me to Eric Lloyd, one of his old ridding buddies in the "Club" whose Turangawaewae is Kohumaru Station and its NZD100M+ of harvest ready-NZ tea tree oil and honey. Honey that his nephew, Murray harvests for the "POI" health honey range.
Thirdly, Luke Shepherd, our "Business Combination" partner who invested a lot of money to setup his state of the art tree oil extraction facility. supported by Nic whose job is to get the shelf-ready SKU's into the distribution facility in the US.
There's David, the Denver based CPA who has looked after the project companies for over ten years. In CA there is Lydia, an executive director at an all women PR firm with whom discussions have been had re the US launch. Certainly an inspiring firm from which pointers on the commercial opportunities that open up to women controlled / owned companies in the US were noted. Also, CA is home to the project's crowdfunding company and its two co-founders, Ron & Bruce who have been very supportive of the Tribal project launch.
Back in our home state of FL is where Amy, our CPA, Dean, attorney at law, Greg, the distribution advisor and Maureen, our crowdfunding development manager are based. Once the "mother and daughter reunion" is wrapped up, we get down to running the showcase and launching the "Tribal" project in the US. An exciting journey lies ahead.
Over 2,300 acres of mature, harvest ready regrowth manuka and kanuka tea tree with a US retail shelf value in excess of NZ$100M is growing on this "Crown Land" owned station.
Here is Eric, on a wet winters day, injured leg and all, inspecting the materials delivered for the construction of a factory in which to house the tea tree oil extraction equipment.
Because every batch of oil produced will be subject to "COA" (Certificate of Analysis) testing for use as a natural infection control consumer product.
Product in the display stand is our "Tea Tree Kleen", a malicious pathogen inhibiting, disinfectant surface spray for the kitchen & bathroom.
